Storage Tips

Use all space, including height. Furniture that is broken down is easier to store and will take up less space (i.e. standing a sofa on its end).

Concrete draws moisture. Do NOT store upholstered furniture directly on the floor. Use pallets, bricks or even cardboard as an insulator.

Clean all of your personal items prior to storing.

Cover upholstered furniture with sheets or blankets to help keep the dust off of them.

Cover all electronic equipment with plastic, sheets, or blankets.

Cedar is a good way for keeping away any unwanted insects.

Spray furniture with a good polish.

Do NOT store any food items unless sealed properly in heavy plastic or glass containers.

Defrost refrigerators and keep the door to the refrigerator slightly ajar during storage.

Seal boxes with strong packing tape. Use sturdy packing boxes and fill the boxes to their capacity to avoid tipping or collapsing.

To retard rusting of exposed metal, use a light coat of oil.

Stack lighter items on top of heavier ones.

Keep items you may need in the near future where they can be easily reached and for easy access to all of your items, leave wall space from the front to the back of your unit.

We strongly suggest using Climate Control Units for wood products, art, etc.
